GENERAL BALLAST OPERATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS
INSTALLATION
-Must match ballast to lamp type [F32t8, F40T12, F96T8/IS, F96T12/IS F96T12/HO]
-The following lamp types will only operate on the following M.E. Ballasts:
F40T10 lamps….F40T12 Ballasts Only
F32T8/ES 48″ 30w, 28w, and 25w Energy Savers….F32T8 Program Start and F32T8 Instant Start Ballasts
F25T8 36″ and F17T8 24″ lamps….F32T8 Program Start and F32T8 Instant Start Ballasts
-M.E. ballasts are designed for 120v or 277v systems. Must match voltage to correct ballasts.
-Multi-Volt™ Ballasts will work on both voltages.
-Minimum Starting Temperatures: F32T8…O°F, F40T12…50°F, F96T8/IS…32°F, F96T12…O°F, F96T12/HO…-20°F, Ballasts with any Energy Saving Lamps…60°F
-M.E. recommends using Licensed Electricians for wiring and installing. Incorrectly hooking up the ballast can short it out and will void the warranty.
-Not for use on dimming circuits.
TROUBLESHOOTING
-If lamps are hard to start even with the new ballasts, check that the ballasts and fixture are grounded properly per electrical code. Electronic ballasts require a good ground.
-Lamps that are switched on/off more than 2 times/day should be used with Program Strart T8 or Rapid Start T12 ballast for maximum life.
-Extreme ambient temperatures will shorten ballast life and void warranty (below Minimum Starting Temperatures, and over 100°F).
