HPS/MH Retrofits Usage Notes:

 

Installation

- Mounting position critical for lamps NOT having “U” designation

- Color may shift due to ambinet temperature changes, ballast age, and improper burn position.

New Lamps may require up to 100 hours burn-in time to stabilize color.

- Enclosed-rated mogul-base lamps will not operate in Open-Fixtures installed after January 2005.  However, Open-Rated mogul base lamps work in both Open and Enclosed Fixtures.

Troubleshooting

- Requires up to 5-10 minutes cool-down to restart

- IF your new lamp won’t start, make sure the lamp matches the fixture type.  Enclosed-rated lamps will not make electrical connection and start in newer Open Fixtures.

- All High Pressure Sodium ballasts utilize seperate Pulse Ignitor that can fail before the ballast.  If a new lamp fails to strt in an older fixture, th eignitor may be faulty.

-You can identify Mogul-base Open-Rated_Lamp_Only sockets by their pink color.

avatarMy boss wanted us to install these bulbs in our offices. I’m thinking to myself, “Just how good could an 18 dollar light bulb be?”.

But I ordered enough for the entire office. They were installed on a Thursday, while I was out of the office. On Friday, I got to the office after noon, and spent about 3 hours working in my office, typing letters, sending emails, and writing notes. I liked the brightness, but wasn’t sure the money was well spent. At some point, I went across the way to sign some invoices. I couldn’t see the invoices without my reading glasses, so I went back to my office to get them.

The glasses were not in my office—they were in my car. I had actually worked for three hours without them, and because the lights are so bright and clear, I just didn’t notice…true story.

These lights are amazing!
